BRINGING PETS INTO NEW ZEALAND?
With the exception of cats and dogs arriving from Australia, ALL other pets must meet specific health standards set by the New Zealand MPI (Ministry of Primary Industries) before beginning their new life in New Zealand.
This requires immigrating pets to have vaccinations prior to departure, form stay a minimum of 10 days at a designated quarantine facility upon arrival, where they will be inspected by certified MPI vets in order to gain clearance.

VACCINATIONS - ALL DOGS
The following vaccinations are required no more than one year and no less than 14 days prior to arrival in New Zealand
Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Bordetella
VACCINATIONS - DOGS TRAVELLING FROM USA, CANADA, SOUTH KOREA and SINGAPORE
These pets need further vaccinations against CIV H3N2 and H3N8 to manufacturers specifications (2 vaccinations 2-3 weeks apart, with the 1st vaccine at least 30 days before departure
VACCINATIONS - ALL CATS
The following vaccinations are required no more than one year and no less than 14 days prior to arrival in New Zealand
Feline Panleukopenia (enteritis), Feline Rhinotracheitis and Feline Calicivirus

To be completed by a Veterinary Practitioner in the country of origin. MUST be signed and stamped

PETS VETERINARY BOOK
Please email a copy of your pet’s vet book showing their annual vaccinations for proof of ownership
OWNERS VISA/WORK PERMIT
We require a copy of your visa and/or work permit. This must be valid for at least 12 months from arrival to avoid customs charges
OWNERS PASSPORT
Please provide a copy of your passport photo page including all numbers and details

HOW MUCH DOES PET QUARANTINE COST?
Our quarantine pricing is very competitive, with discounts for pet families
CAN WE VISIT OUR PETS DURING QUARANTINE?
No. In the interests of New Zealand biosecurity, visiting your pet in quarantine is not permitted
MY PET IS ON MEDICATION AND/OR HAS A SPECIAL DIET – IS THIS OK?
Yes. Our staff are experienced in administering medication and we cater for special dietary requirements
DO YOU OFFER PET BOARDING ONCE QUARANTINE IS COMPLETE?
Yes. Once your pet receives MPI clearance they can board with us on-site at Brookby Lodge in the kennels or cattery
CAN YOU ARRANGE FOR OUR PET TO FLY WITHIN NEW ZEALAND AFTER THEIR QUARANTINE STAY?
Yes. We can arrange further flights to any domestic airport in New Zealand
WHERE DO I START?
Begin by requesting a quote from us. Once you decide to go ahead you will need to book your pet’s stay. Upon receiving a booking confirmation from us you can then complete your Import Permit Application and make arrangements with your chosen pet transport company in the country of origin to fly your pet to New Zealand.
From there our Auckland Quarantine team will contact you regarding the next steps.

No. There are strict guidelines that must be followed within our quarantine facility and all
